Editorial Structure

The World Review of Research and Innovation (WRRI) is managed by three editorial bodies: the Editorial Team, the Editorial Board and the Advisory Board. Each has its own academic duties, and together they safeguard the quality and integrity of the journal and guide its development.

1. Editorial Team

The Editorial Team runs the journal's academic and editorial work from day to day.

Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief leads the journal academically, oversees the editorial process, upholds its standards and ensures that every decision is fair, independent and consistent with WRRI policy.

Editor

The Editor works with the Editor-in-Chief on manuscript assessment, editorial decisions, the organisation of peer review and the application of journal policies.

Managing Editor

The Managing Editor looks after operations: handling submissions, correspondence with authors and reviewers, production timelines and the administration of each bi-annual issue.

Associate Editors

Associate Editors handle manuscripts in their fields of expertise, carrying out initial screening, finding and managing reviewers, and advising on decisions.

2. Editorial Board

The Editorial Board is made up of established scholars in the Social Sciences and allied fields. Its members help the journal to:

  • define and develop its academic scope;
  • maintain scholarly quality;
  • advise on whether submissions are suitable and on gaps in subject coverage;
  • suggest qualified, independent reviewers;
  • review and improve editorial policies;
  • encourage responsible research and publishing; and
  • plan the journal's growth.

Members and their affiliations are listed on the Editorial Board page.

3. Advisory Board

The Advisory Board gives strategic advice on matters such as:

  • emerging questions and methods in the Social Sciences;
  • interdisciplinary and international developments in research and innovation;
  • how the journal's scope should evolve;
  • research quality and publication standards;
  • building academic partnerships and international visibility; and
  • the journal's long-term plans.

Its role is purely advisory; it does not take part in decisions on individual manuscripts.

Independence of Decisions

Every decision is based on a manuscript's quality, originality, relevance, method and ethical standing. Commercial interests, advertising, sponsorship, institutional affiliation, personal relationships and ability to pay play no part. The Editorial Team exercises independent academic judgement throughout.

Declaring Conflicts

All editors and Board members must declare any actual or apparent conflict of interest concerning a manuscript, and must stand aside from any decision it affects.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts and review records are confidential. They are shared only with people directly involved in the editorial process, except where policy or law requires disclosure.

Reviewing

Board membership does not mean that a member reviews every paper. Reviewers are chosen for the specific expertise each manuscript requires, in accordance with the Peer Review Policy.

Ethical Responsibilities

All editorial bodies apply WRRI's publication ethics policies and help resolve cases of plagiarism, misconduct, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, corrections and retractions in a fair, confidential and transparent way.
